GLWR - Registered Charity Number: 1118665 Greyhound and Lurcher Welfare and Rescue was set up following the closure of the Glastonbury race track. We were concerned that greyhounds, seen by trainers as no longer "useful", might be put to sleep, and we wanted to offer a real alternative for these elegant sighthounds.
We also see so many lurchers (sighthound crossbreeds) used and abused for hunting, ill treated and abandoned that we decided to include these dogs in our remit too.

ACE K9 RESCUE Guildford We are a dog rescue located near Guildford in Surrey Our main aim is to help re-home unwanted and abandoned dogs in our local area, we always have dogs needing homes, all our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped.
These are not GLWR dogs and you will be dealing directly with ACE K9 RESCUE.
ERIN HOUNDS Erin Hounds is a new group set up in the Cheshire area to help a few of the many abandoned and neglected sighthounds that fall on hard times in Ireland.
These are not GLWR dogs and you will be dealing directly with Erin Hounds representatives.
HOMELESS HOUNDS IN OTHER RESCUES These dogs needing homes are either with other rescues or private rehomings. They are not GLWR dogs and you will be dealing directly with the rescue representative or other person involved.
Following on from the sucess of the auction for Lucy Lu, GLWR have decided to hold a raffle to continue to raise funds for both Lucy Lu's ongoing care and any treatment that Milo may need in the future.
LUCY LU'S SPECIAL AUCTION - CLOSED (2 sub-boards) This auction is to raise funds to pay towards Lucy Lu's ever increasing vet bills. Read her story in the Sponsor Dogs section.
